My inspiration for creating the homework portal stemmed from a deeply meaningful conversation I had with my Btech teacher. During that discussion, she expressed her concern about the prevalence of student dishonesty in submitting assignments, with many resorting to copying and pasting their friends' notes or using online sources without truly understanding the material.

Realizing the detrimental effects such practices could have on their future prospects, I was determined to make a difference. I envisioned a platform that would encourage students to submit homework with integrity, promoting originality and discouraging plagiarism. Additionally, to ensure transparency and authenticity, the portal would generate plagiarism reports, making it easier for educators to assess the submissions.

Throughout the project, we embarked on a journey of learning and exploration. We delved into various cutting-edge technologies, such as the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js), which allowed us to create a robust and efficient platform. Moreover, we dived into the fascinating world of Natural Language Processing (NLP), seeking innovative ways to detect and prevent copy-pasting effectively.

Following the agile life cycle, we divided our tasks among the team members, embracing the power of teamwork to bring our vision to life. Planning was essential to identify the features we wanted to implement, followed by designing the user interface to ensure a seamless experience for both students and teachers. Then, we embarked on the coding phase, translating our ideas into functional code that brought the platform to life.

The journey was not without its challenges. Implementing NLP algorithms to accurately detect copied content proved to be one of the most demanding tasks. We had to overcome numerous obstacles, fine-tune the algorithms, and test the system thoroughly to achieve reliable results. Additionally, time constraints added pressure, but our passion for the project fueled our determination to deliver a functional and polished portal.

Despite the challenges, we persevered, and our hard work paid off. Completing this idea for the hackathon brought us immense satisfaction, knowing that we had contributed to fostering academic integrity and encouraging originality among students. We believed that by instilling these values, we could shape a generation of conscientious and honest learners, equipped with essential research and critical thinking skills.
