Team 09 - Ingredii

Ingredii is a camera system that mounts to a pantry door. It utilizes AI to identify each item and automatically log it in an inventory app as the user adds or removes it from the pantry, eliminating the need for manual lists. The app provides AI-powered recipes based on what the user has in the pantry. Ingredii is for the whole cooking population, especially young audiences who are willing to easily adopt technology into their lives and streamline the cooking process, such as college students who need to coordinate meals. Ingredii is also targeted towards people without the time to keep track of inventory. Friends and family can create joint pantries through our community hub, syncing each of their pantry information across all devices. When a gathering is hosted, our app will utilize AI to analyze linked pantries and tell each guest exactly what item to bring. Users will also have the option to swap ingredients or share recipes with friends. Additionally, Ingredii tracks expiry dates of each pantry item, sending a notification to users when an item is nearing expiration. A user will also receive notifications if an item they set to be a “staple” is running low. With Ingredii, users can reduce the time they spend taking last‑minute runs to the store, determining what to cook, and coordinating meals with others. Instead, they can spend more time enjoying meals with their family and friends. Users will only need to open the app and discover meals that can be made with the user’s current inventory or by borrowing items. This system helps reduce food waste, save money, save time, and make kitchens more efficient.
