TeachersBuddy

Inspiration

Teachers need to use various applications to make assignments and enter grades, not to mention managing communications and connecting to other sites they may use. This can be difficult as the applications need to be connected and be able to work together. TeachersBuddy consolidates all of this into one place, so teachers can more conveniently manage all of their workload and spend more time teaching and not wrestling tech issues.

What it does

TeachersBuddy allows teachers to assign students work, manage parent communications, and manage grades all on one site. It is easy to use and simple, so teachers don't have to spend time over tech failures, and allows them to use one application instead of multiple.

How we built it

TeachersBuddy was made as a prototype using Replit.

Challenges we ran into

The challenging part for me was figuring out how to use Replit and prompt it to match the vision.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the end product as it matched the prompts quite well, despite it just being a template.

What we learned

I learned that you have to address problems specifically and prompt the tool specifically too: you have to give exact details in order for it to be effective.

What's next for TeachersBuddy

Making it a usable reality and coding/designing it someday, hopefully!
