Inspiration
we strive to empower students worldwide through personalized learning support fostering peer-to-peer collaboration, and making learning engaging. As students, we have created this platform as a solution to some of the problems that we, ourselves have faced. Especially in larger campuses, students may experience or feel isolated or have difficulty forming meaningful connections with peers. Transitioning to college or university life, particularly for first-year students, can be overwhelming. Moreover, it can be extremely difficult to set up a timetable that accommodates all the projects, assignments, and other workloads and this pressure may lead to anxiety and burnout. TeachAssist addresses these challenges by providing personalized learning support and fostering peer-to-peer collaboration. It helps students manage their time efficiently with custom timetables based on progress and available time. By leveraging AI, it offers timely feedback and matches students with peers who complement their skills. TeachAssist's AI-driven feedback system ensures timely and personalized feedback for students, helping them promptly address areas for improvement and improve their learning outcomes.
What it does
TechAssist is a platform which acts as student-teacher interface which helps to ensure coordination between students themselves along with teachers. Made with a strong aim of making time management hassle-free for students thereby ensuring that student's spirit to learn and grow remain high. Regular providence of topic wise questions to ensure better learning making it possible in adopting a rational approach. The most efficient feature of providing automated timetabling thereby saving effort and time.
How we built it
Initially rough draft was made that included the ideas of all the team members. In combination with all ideas a basic layout was created for each page. Then the code for the design and the functioning was written to ensure if it was executable and satisfactory. The languages used were HTML and CSS and MongoDB as the database. The overall website was built on angular. The code was edited to suit the requirements. Then the final code was run once again to avoid errors and ensure smooth functionality.
Challenges we ran into
We faced several challenges during the development phase of our project. Initially, grappling with unfamiliarity with web technologies necessitated a steep learning curve in HTML, CSS, and Angular. As we explored integrating AI into our platform to enhance functionality, we encountered the obstacle of costs associated with implementing backend AI solutions, prompting us to seek alternative approaches to achieve our project goals.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take great pride in our final product, a solution that enhances student performance and utilized emerging technologies. With a deep understanding of our customers' challenges, we've crafted a platform that not only meets but exceeds expectations.
What we learned
We learned the fundamentals of full-stack development and website construction, navigating the challenges typical of startups without substantial backing. Our team collaboration played a crucial role, fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving. Moreover, we were exposed to the challenges related to the initial growth of startups, and the problems they encounter
What's next for TeachAssist
Next for teach assist would involve expanding the AI capabilities and enhancing peer help features so that it gets easier for students to connect and work together effectively. We aim to make the learning experience more personalized and add more features such as more gamified learning elements such as quizzes, rewards, and flashcard games integrated with AI for a more engaging student experience. We also plan on developing a mobile application for TeachAssist enabling students to access resources, study schedules, and collaborate with peers on-the-go.
