Inspiration

Taiwanese tea culture is a world-class treasure, yet for many foreigners, the rich history, precise brewing rituals, and diverse tea varieties can feel wonderfully deep but highly intimidating. I wanted to build a digital bridge—a beautiful, accessible gateway that introduces the elegance and precise craft of authentic Taiwanese tea to a global audience.

What it does

Our platform serves as a professional guide to Taiwanese tea. It educates international tea enthusiasts on different leaf varieties (from high-mountain Oolongs to rich Ruby Red black teas), guides them through authentic Gongfu tea-pouring sequences, and calculates the ideal parameters for the perfect steep.

How I built it

To deliver a smooth, natively compiled experience across both iOS and Android, I built this project using Flutter. I designed the interface from scratch, prioritizing elegant, fluid transitions and highly detailed visual flows to mirror the calm, mindful aesthetic of a traditional tea ceremony.

Challenges I ran into

Building an entire ecosystem solo meant wearing every single hat—UI/UX designer, developer, content curator, and tester. The biggest challenge was maintaining momentum without a team to bounce ideas off of. I paid meticulous attention to logic and consistency (ensuring visual states, like the color progression of the water during steeping, felt natural and physically accurate). Now that the foundation is built, I am incredibly eager to get user feedback to refine the UX further.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Taking a passion project from a blank canvas to a production-ready application. Successfully managing the entire lifecycle of a cross-platform app on my own is an achievement I’m incredibly proud of.

What I learned

I gained hands-on experience navigating the strict deployment guidelines and certificate architectures required to push a production app to the App Store. I also learned how to optimize high-quality visual assets to ensure the app remains lightweight and performant on older mobile devices.

What's next for this project

The next step is turning this educational guide into a global bridge. I plan to integrate a curated e-commerce marketplace that connects local, boutique Taiwanese tea farmers directly with tea lovers worldwide, ensuring fair trade and authentic quality in every cup.
