Inspiration

I was inspired by lots of cake and the idea of interacting with friends through an AR lens.

What it does

It is a picnic setup where you can drag the food around, interact with or "grab" objects using 3d hand tracking and make a crazy chaotic picnic scene.

How I built it

I first modeled all the food in Blender (except for the scanned croissants I found on my computer from before). Then I brought them into the sync framework template and made the food draggable. I added more physics for the macaron to drop from the air once the lens starts. Some anti gravity for the balloons. I looked through the 3d hand interaction template and made some objects grabable by hand. I used vertex animation for some fun frosting.

Challenges we ran into

MANY! First of all, I wasn't able to replace neither the hand nor the glasses avatars with custom ones. I couldn't get them to work no matter what I tried. I am not a coder so I must have missed something in between.

Some objects keep penetrating through the ground even thoughI put a pretty large collider.

Also, I wasn't able to use lens cloud. It kept crashing and I filled a report. It's apparently a know issue.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

Both sync framework and physics were completely new to me. I had never built any lenses with these capabilities so I am very proud of that. :) And as mentioned before, I have zero knowledge about programming.

What I've learnt

I learnt all the above. Physics, hand interaction, the sync framework.

What's next for Tea Party Chaos

Maybe a champagne party? Just kidding. I am sure I can
