Inspiration

I was inspired by Amazon Alexa offering a way to implement a voice controlled shopping and checkout. When I heard about the hackathon I was sure that counting cups of coffee consumed a day and a way to order via voice is something that really works in todays home office sceniarios during corona crisis as well as afterwards.

What it does

The Tchibo Coffee Counter for Amazon Alexa helps you keep track of the number of cups of coffee consumed a day and also counts the number of cups available. You can get stats of you coffee consumption of the last 7 and 30 days for yourself and in comparison with other users using the skill. When the number of cups available drops under a certain number, you are asked to start a shopping process.

How we built it

The Skill is built using Amazon Alexa SDK for Java as a Spring Boot application.
