Inspiration
Our project is inspired by our biology. Cells use information cascades to run billions of processes per minute with an astounding lack of error. By establishing error identification between each step of appointment applications, we mimic the efficiency of our biology.
What it does
It provides a streamlined interface that guides both disabled and general patients to the exact resources they need to secure an appointment with a professional that works for them and understands their needs. It removes the cluttered information barrage that many current application systems have.
How we built it
We built a frontend system with AI resources that includes a professional page and a patient page, coding in JSX to increase efficiency and debugging through scrutiny. We also built a backend system that saves patient profiles to a database, assigns them unique usernames and passwords, and allows specific professionals to access their patients' profiles.
Challenges we ran into
There were many bugs with the visual AI frontend, but we used knowledge of pixel math and sine waves to fix the visual issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It was a real task to complete such a large project as a team of just two, both at our first Hackathon ever. The experience was fun and gave us a look into the real life of a software developer.
What we learned
AI is an extremely powerful tool, but becomes even more effective when paired with human creativity and deliberation.
What's next for Cascade Navigation System
We can continue to develop the security of our system and perhaps eventually market it to Wellstar, an important hospital in our area.
