Inspiration

We wanted to create a fun and interactive way for people, especially young children, to learn vital First aid knowledge that could potentially save lives in the future. We were inspired by the Google dinosaur game because of how addictive it is, and trivia games.

What this project does

Our project is a game where players drive an ambulance through streets with cars and roadblocks. Upon crashing the ambulance, players take a short quiz about how to handle a variety of different First aid scenarios. Players are reminded of the importance of calling 9-1-1 in medical emergencies and learn crucial information about health emergencies they may encounter in the future. Additionally, we created a website where players can access both this game and additional links to official CPR and First aid training and resources.

How we built this project

This project was built in Unity, which uses c#. Graphics were created from scratch using an online pixel art creator. We designed the website in Figma and implemented it using HTML5 and CSS3.

Challenges we faced

We faced many challenges hosting our project online. We tried many different hosting methods and spent a lot of brain power trying to solve these problems, and eventually landed on using Github Pages after other attempts failed. In the end, even though this is not the method we originally were planning on using, our quick thinking paid off as we were able to host our project.

What we learned

Only one member of our team had any prior experience using either Unity or c#. Everybody on our team learned a lot about programming in both of these languages, as well as working on a larger project as a team by communicating and delegating tasks.
