Inspiration

We noticed that many people struggle to stay productive, manage stress, and meet deadlines in their daily lives. We wanted to create a tool that gives just the right “nudge” to help users focus, reduce anxiety, and tackle their workload efficiently.

What it does

The main idea behind Nudge was to create a robust extension, packed with useful features that can be utilized by virtually anyone Nudge is a Chrome extension designed to boost productivity and well-being. It helps users manage stress, stay on top of deadlines, and organize tasks effectively, all while providing gentle reminders to keep them focused and motivated. Key features include:

  • Break Reminder – “Take a break before you burn out!”
  • Focus Tracking – “Know where your time really goes!”
  • Pomodoro Timer – “Crank up focus with science-backed sessions!”
  • Breathing Exercises – “Relax instantly… breathe in, breathe out!”
  • Task Breakdown – “Big goals? No problem—smash them step by step!”
  • Calendar Integration – “Stay on top of deadlines, effortlessly!”
  • White Noise – “Block out distractions, tune into productivity!”
  • ASMR Fidgets – “Stress relief meets fun—right in your browser!”
  • Wellness Tools – “Your personal wellness toolkit… always a click away!”

How we built it

Nudge was built using Kiro, an AI-powered IDE that transforms natural language prompts into clear specifications. This spec-driven approach helps plan and execute features efficiently, reducing ambiguity and improving code quality.

By leveraging Kiro, we designed and implemented Nudge in a streamlined, maintainable way, creating an extension packed with practical features for users.

Challenges we ran into

There were many challenges along the way. At the start, the biggest hurdle was finding a useful idea that was not only challenging but also valuable for the general public. Then came designing features that were complex yet easy for anyone to use, ensuring the interface was intuitive, and making the extension stable across different browsers. We also had to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and balance creativity with practical implementation. Every challenge became an opportunity to learn and overcome, and with Kiro by our side, the struggles were short-lived.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We take pride in every feature we’ve built, but some truly stand out. Focus Tab Tracking keeps users aware and in control of their digital habits, Pomodoro brings science-backed productivity right to their fingertips, and Calendar Reminder Integration ensures nothing important ever slips through the cracks. These features embody what Nudge is all about: helping people stay focused, organized, and efficient.

What we learned

We encountered many new technical challenges along the way, but we believe that we learned the most important lesson: with the right tools, every problem can be tackled , and for us, that tool was Kiro.

What's next for Nudge

We had so much fun building Nudge, and we believe there’s even more we can do:

  • Seamless AI integration – to make the extension smarter and more helpful.

  • One-click Google Calendar reminders – so adding tasks is effortless.

  • Improved UI – to make Nudge easier and more enjoyable to use.

  • A multitude of new features – to help users stay focused and organized in even more ways,we have many weird cool and helpful ideas on our minds.

  • Customizable notifications – so reminders fit each user’s workflow perfectly.
