Inspiration

Our team has worked together for over 10 years. We manage different groups across development and support but we are interconnected and dependent on each other to get our work done. JIRA has always been there with us, and has played an integral part. But there was always something missing.

Elevator for JIRA was born out of this gap – Knowing who you should assign an issue to. Ensuring urgent issues are raised quickly. Getting issues to the right people in your business the first time and ensuring everyone is on the same page.

What it does

Elevator for Jira delivers an integrated experience for Jira users to define and manage on-call rosters, as well as for users to escalate jira issues to available on call rosters.

Once an escalation is underway Elevator for Jira uses email and Atlassian Hipchat to keep everyone involved on the same page. The escalator knows immediately when their escalation has been acknowledged by the recipient, and they know instantly when their escalation has been resolved.

Elevator for Jira also provides workflow functions that allow its escalation capability to be integrated into existing team workflows.

How we built it

We took a long hard look at the challenges we'd experienced managing urgent issues and incidents and sat down to design the features we wished were available in JIRA
