Inspiration

We wanted to make finding how much one would actually pay for a product much easier, which is especially important when travelling and you're unsure how much the tax is.

How it works

It uses saved data files to calculate the sales tax based off an inputted location with two parameters: state and county/city in the United States.

Challenges I ran into

Synthesizing the huge amount of tax rate data and storing it within the app, learning to work with Android Studio.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We have a functional, aesthetically pleasing app.

What I learned

Basic programming for Androids, how to design an app.

What's next for TaxDat

To incorporate different sorts of taxes, like special taxes on prepared food or alcohol.
