Inspiration

Professional tax intelligence costs €10,000–€20,000/year from incumbent platforms. Most advisors, CFOs, and law firms go without — not because the information doesn't exist, but because the organizational model behind it is expensive. We asked: what happens when AI eliminates that cost structure entirely?

What it does

TaxAtlas is an AI-native intelligence system delivering professional-grade corporate tax profiles across 40+ jurisdictions. Subscribers access a live web platform with multi-country comparison, bilateral treaty rate lookup, effective tax rate modelling, and downloadable structured tax documents — all maintained by an autonomous agent pipeline and priced at 1/100th of incumbents.

How we built it

Five autonomous agents form the intelligence stack. A Gemini-powered Environmental Intelligence layer monitors OECD, EUR-Lex, and national tax authorities on a continuous schedule. When a regulatory change is detected, Drafting, Validation, and QA agents process and verify the update. A Publishing agent executes deployment post-approval. No content reaches production without explicit human sign-off. Built on Gemini API, Google Cloud Run, Google Cloud SQL, and Next.js.

Challenges we ran into

Designing a governance model that is both autonomous and trustworthy for professional use. Tax intelligence cannot afford errors — the Governance & Sentinel layer (human approval gate) was the critical architectural decision that made the system viable for practitioners.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A single human principal operating an agentic workforce that produces intelligence previously requiring a team of 10+ researchers. The Organizational Singularity applied to professional services.

What we learned

Intelligence density and decision velocity — not headcount — are the competitive advantages of the AI-native organization. One person with the right agent architecture outproduces traditional editorial teams.
