Inspiration

Healthcare is a fundamental right. However those who need healthcare services the most might not access it due to various barriers such as high cost , long distances and inadequate healthcare personnel. Per a 2018 study by Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, approximately 51% of all new HIV/AIDs infections in Kenya are among adolescents and youth.

Plan Netherlands, further established that amongst challenges faced by adolescents living with HIV/AIDS the following were pertinent: Vulnerability due to some being orphaned hence lacking opportunities early on in their lives. The adolescents lacked effective support groups For pregnant teens there were gaps in meeting PMTCT service needs of pregnant HIV-positive adolescent girls

Tawi space is a startup with the aim to improve health access and equity through technology by providing end-to-end solutions that enhance access to quality healthcare, improve health outcomes, and lower the total cost of care. We are solving for the problem of access to sexual and reproductive health services to youth and adolescents since 51% of all new HIV/AIDs infections in Kenya are among adolescents and youth.
