Inspiration

We got the inspiration for our app from our own life experience with going on a trip with friends. Managing a shared budget can be chaotic and at times stressful and it also puts a lot of responsibility on the person who has all the money.

What it does

Our app makes sharing a budget easy. Users can make a money pot where they can add funds. They all have their own virtual cards which they can use to pay with simultaneously. This makes it ridiculously easy to go on a trip, sharing a budget, paying in groups, managing debts without having pointless and unnecessary stress.

How we built it

Of course, at the beginning we started brainstorming some ideas. We found the core idea rather quickly because of our real life experiences. After that we entered a planning phase where we split the tasks. Made the UI/UX flow, design and started coding. Backend was made using Supabase and on the frontend we use ReactNative Expo as it allows for quick and easy development of mobile apps. All while the other part of our team worked on our logo and presentation.

The challenges we faced:

We had to find something, that will make our app exceptional, different and unforgettable. Based on our target group we made a cool and suitable design. At first we couldn't figure out how to create one account with multiple cards, but we did our best, we asked our mentors or friends and luckily, we found a way to solve that problem too.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made an application using a design tailored for Tatra Banka as much as it can be, but with our unique vibe. We came up with a unique idea of having money pots and each member of the money pot will have his own virtual card. This ensures safety as well as being able to handle group payments fast, easy and without unnecessary stress and debts.

What we learned on the way :)

First of all, as a team of 3 we earned valuable experience in working in a team such as organizing, giving and receiving instructions etc. All of us deepened our technological skills as well, whether it's in the field of UI/UX design or the process of writing the code and making the whole app work together. We learned how to face obstacles, that were both easy and hard, while having fun and being chilled out too.

What's next for Tatra Together

Of course, just like any Hackathon app, Tatra Travel is just an MVP. We are looking to add more and more functionalities later on such as multiple account types.
