Inspiration
From various researches and even from our own knowledge we understand it is best to start education on financial responsibility from early age. We also notice a trend, where more often than not we see the young generation glued to the screens of various electronic devices. Combining these two pieces of information we were presented with an idea to combine financial education and technology in a mobile app, where teens have access to interactive educational content that is sorely lacking in current curriculums.
What it does
Our app gets to the point of financial literacy by teaching children that sometimes, buying the thing you are currently interested in might not be the brightest idea and that saving and delaying gratification can bring you greater rewards in the long run. App tries to do this by gamification of saving for various goals and rewarding their good decisions. In addition, we wish to teach children the value of money by showing them the amount of money they spent with the value of real life items such as food, electronics, or maybe comparing them with the "hourly wage" they get rewarded after completing a task successfully, set up by their parents - just to show them that in order to earn a certain amount, how much they have to work e.g. taking out trash, emptying the dishwasher or vacuuming the house.
How we built it
We sketched our main ideas and various workflows using Figma design tool.
Challenges we ran into
Multitasking between challenges and sleep deprivation (:
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting together and staying strong! .... and not falling asleep on the table ... for the most part
What we learned
We for sure learned various Figma functionalities along with soft skills lessons from our mentors.
What's next for Tatra Junior App for Children Financial Skills
Hopefully get adapted by TatraBanka ;)
