The website was very outdated, and the existence of two separate websites was redundant, calling for a revamp in terms of functionality and user experience in order to increase user traffic on the website and also Tata Sampann sales.

What it does

The new website combines both the informative aspect as well the payment platform, thus becoming the sole online platform for Tata Sampann. A recommendation system personalises the written content shown to users based on their interests. Micro influencers write articles which are published on the news feed of the website, and YouTube videos uploaded by YouTubers who use Tata Sampann products in their cookery videos are featured on the website.

How we built it

We built the website using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript and deployed our recommendation model on, an open source platform.

Challenges we ran into

The decision as to whether to generate more revenue by outsourcing the purchases to third party websites, or developing Tata Sampann's own website and brand.
