Tasty Feast

Tasty Feast was inspired by the everyday challenge of ordering from local restaurants and coordinating the people who make each delivery happen. I wanted one app where customers can discover restaurants and follow their orders, restaurant owners can manage menus and preparation, and riders can handle deliveries.

I built the app with Flutter and Dart, using Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore for accounts and order data, Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, and Google Maps for delivery locations. The app supports separate customer, restaurant owner, rider, and admin workflows, with COD and manually verified InstaPay payment flows.

A major challenge was keeping order status and payment state consistent across several roles. I worked on lifecycle validation, Firestore security rules, and clearer state handling for accepting, preparing, assigning, and completing orders. I also added sales reports with time filters and CSV export so owners and riders can review their activity.

This project taught me how much coordination a real-world workflow requires beyond the customer-facing screens: permissions, edge cases, testing across roles, and reliable handling of changing order states all matter. Some trusted backend automation still depends on Firebase Cloud Functions, which I’m treating as a known limitation until the required billing setup is available.
