Inspiration
TasteIQ was inspired by the joy of discovering food cultures around the world and the idea that learning can be both fun and rewarding. We wanted to turn curiosity about global cuisine into an interactive, long-form experience for players.
What it does
TasteIQ challenges players with trivia questions about foods, dishes, and culinary traditions from different countries. The game tracks progress across sessions, allowing players to continue their journey, improve their knowledge at their own pace.
How we built it
We built TasteIQ as a long-form game using persistent storage to save player progress between sessions. This allows completed questions, unlocked regions, and advancement to remain intact, creating a continuous and meaningful learning experience.
Challenges we ran into
Gathering data and creating game form for the game
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a game that encourages learning through play and successfully remembers player progress over time.
What we learned
We learned how powerful persistent storage can be in creating deeper, more engaging experiences for the games.
What's next for TasteIQ
We plan to expand TasteIQ with more countries, difficulty levels, and themed food categories. Future updates may include leaderboards, achievements, and personalized progress insights to further enhance engagement.
