Inspiration
I noticed how students and developers often struggle not with a lack of tasks, but with overwhelm, procrastination, and decision fatigue. Most to-do apps become passive lists that people eventually ignore. TaskPulse was created to turn planning into action and remove the friction of deciding what to do next.
What it does
TaskPulse is a smart productivity companion that transforms simple task entries into structured, actionable steps. It prioritizes your workload based on urgency and effort, and guides you with a “What should I do now?” feature that always suggests the next best task to focus on. It also provides productivity tracking and daily focus planning.
How I built it
I built TaskPulse using MeDo’s low-code platform by combining modular UI components, workflow automation, and task logic rules. The system is structured around task creation, automatic breakdown into sub-tasks, priority scoring logic, and a dynamic daily focus engine. The interface was designed to stay minimal and distraction-free.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was designing a prioritization system that feels intelligent but remains simple enough to implement within MeDo’s constraints. Another challenge was balancing automation with user control so that the app feels helpful rather than overly restrictive or rigid.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I successfully built a functional smart task system that goes beyond a basic to-do list. The “What should I do now?” feature creates a guided workflow experience, which significantly reduces decision fatigue. I am also proud of creating a clean and intuitive interface suitable for daily use.
What I learned
I learned how important behavioral design is in productivity tools. The biggest challenge is not storing tasks, but influencing user action in a natural and non-intrusive way. I also gained experience in structuring logic-based workflows using a no-code/low-code platform effectively.
What's next for TaskPulse
Next, I plan to integrate AI-powered task understanding for smarter breakdowns, add calendar synchronization, and introduce adaptive productivity insights based on user habits. I also aim to expand TaskPulse into a cross-platform productivity ecosystem for students and professionals.
