Inspiration

As gymbros, we love to keep working on our forms and an app that directly lets us compare and build techniques similar to our favorite athletes.

What it does

Maps our exercise movement and joint angles directly to the chosen athlete's and be able to visually compare the differences to be able to work on our game. This is a direct solution to people not being able to easily understand how peoples' techniques differ from their own, especially as they reach into a more advanced skill level.

Alignment with the hackathon theme

We are mapping the user's form directly onto a professional's and comparing the differences in this mapping.

Tech Stack

On the frontend, we used React, Typescript and mediapipe models for overlapping the joints of the user and the chosen athlete. The backend uses FastAPI to load professional model data.

Challenges we ran into

Overlapping mediapipe models for 3d user bodies, and being able to present that in an interpretable UI for the end-user.

Accomplishments your team is proud of

Creating a 3d model using angles to compare professional forms and be able to give an abstract concept like form and technique proper statistics. Also, we were able to create a project that everyone in our team directly benefits from, given that it is such a scalable concept since techniques exist in all forms of activities.

Lessons learned and next steps

We should have built a feasibility model and analysis on the API's and tech stacks required to fulfill the implementation, not doing so gave us heavy setbacks. Also, being able to collaborate better through defined work tickets.
