Inspiration

The food industry is where most high schoolers experience their first taste of the workplace. After hearing personal accounts from one of our teammates, Chase, we sought out to build a tool that would ease his complaints.

What it does

Our app allows for instant and seamless communication between those in the food industry. Workers set their statuses to be either available or occupied. This status will display both in app (available to Apple devices including Apple Watches, iPhones, iPads) & be conveyed to worker name tags. Workers can also input the tables they're waiting on and view restaurant congestion. Finally, we have a reward system where workers complete daily quests and redeem points for prizes. Daily quests are created to promote connectivity between workers and encourage skill development.

How we built it

Our team brainstormed different features for our status updating app and applicable industries. After solidifying the idea, we used Flutterflow to create the front end of our app. Our app includes full functionality for all features: Set Status, Restaurant Congestion, Coworker Status', Table Allocation, Daily Quests, & Redeeming Points.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to decide which features we wanted to implement since our app is intended to be a One Stop Shop portal. We also encountered technical difficulties in transferring variables and logic between pages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the functionality of our app and its possible applications. Not only will we be relevant in the food industry but automotive, manufacturing, education, entertainment, etc.

What we learned

Our team discovered effective brainstorming methods. There's no need to reinvent the wheel- our app is a coalescence of useful features into one efficent portal.

What's next for Tasklet

Tasklet aims to expand beyond the food industry, integrate into Android devices, and supporting translational features to enable global usage.
