I've wanted ways to connect with my community while making a quick buck, and I thought that streamlining the process of performing odd jobs around the neighborhood would be the perfect way to do this.
TaskHopper allows people to both create and fulfill jobs near them while either making some money or getting it done cheap.
TaskHopper is built on a Python backend of Starlette with a MongoDB database and vanilla HTML, CSS, and JS.
None of us had much experience with UI design, so creating an enticing user experience took more time than we'd anticipated.
The UI turned out looking nice, and the process of creating and fulfilling jobs is streamlined and simple.
We learned how to work together as a team, something that none of us solo programmers had done before.
We're hoping to expand our bandwidth to be able to reach more communities, while also making improvements to the usability and accessibility of TaskHopper.
