TaskForge — An AI Agent That Gets Work Done
💡 Inspiration
We built TaskForge around a simple idea: AI should do more than provide answers—it should help people get things done. Students, developers, founders, and small teams often spend hours breaking down tasks, researching information, analyzing data, and preparing reports. We wanted to create a platform that turns a simple natural-language goal into a structured workflow and useful deliverables.
🛠️ How We Built It
TaskForge is designed around an interactive dashboard where users can create tasks, track execution progress, and view results. We developed a web-based demo featuring task management, workflow visualization, CSV data analysis, report generation, and error-recovery flows.
The demo simulates tool activity, retry handling, and task execution to demonstrate how an AI agent can approach multi-step work. It also allows users to download generated reports, making the experience more practical and interactive.
📚 What We Learned
Building TaskForge helped us understand the importance of breaking complex goals into smaller, manageable steps. We also learned how execution tracking, clear feedback, error handling, and downloadable outputs can make an AI-powered application more useful and easier to understand.
🚧 Challenges We Faced
One of our main challenges was designing a workflow that feels realistic while remaining simple to use. We needed to present task progress, tool activity, and results clearly without overwhelming users. Another challenge was demonstrating recovery from failed steps and making the overall experience feel like a complete workflow rather than a basic chatbot.
🚀 What's Next
TaskForge is currently an interactive demo that showcases the core experience. Our next goal is to integrate live AI models and real tools for web research, data processing, and file generation, along with persistent task history and stronger error recovery.
We believe the future of AI is not just about answering questions—it's about helping people turn their ideas into completed work.
