Managing tasks with sticky notes and spreadsheets often leads to poor visibility, missed deadlines, and inefficient collaboration. We wanted to build a modern, intuitive platform that makes project management simple, visual, and accessible for individuals and teams.

What it does

TaskForce is a Kanban-based task management application that enables users to create, edit, organize, and track tasks through a drag-and-drop interface. It includes secure authentication, live progress tracking, search and filtering, file attachments, and a responsive user interface.

How we built it

We developed TaskForce using Angular 21 for the frontend, Firebase Authentication for secure login, Angular CDK for drag-and-drop functionality, JSON Server as a mock backend, and RxJS for reactive state management. The interface was designed with responsive layouts and modern UI principles.

Challenges we ran into

We faced compatibility issues between Angular 21 and AngularFire, drag-and-drop event conflicts, animation errors, dark mode styling problems, dropdown rendering issues, and UI update challenges after task movements.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a fully functional Kanban board with real-time dashboard updates, smooth drag-and-drop interactions, secure authentication, responsive design, and integrated file attachments while overcoming multiple technical challenges.

What we learned

This project strengthened our knowledge of Angular architecture, Firebase integration, RxJS, state management, responsive UI design, debugging complex frontend issues, and building scalable web applications.

What's next for TaskForce

We plan to replace JSON Server with Firebase Firestore, enable real-time collaboration, integrate Firebase Storage for attachments, add team workspaces, comments, activity logs, analytics dashboards, calendar views, and export options for reports.
