Inspiration
We were inspired by the classic Tamagotchi games where you take care of a virtual pet and were curious on how we could build a program that could implement a game into it's functionality.
What it does
This program displays your Computer's statistics, displaying the CPU, RAM, and Disk usage of the PC. As well as a pet tree that will only be as healthy for as long as you don't scroll too much (a way to prevent time being wasted scrolling social media). And, using Google Gemini, you can talk to your pet tree and ask it anything you want. This is all accessible from the program launcher, allowing you to have it as an individual window or a Task Icon.
How we built it
We built Taskagotchi using Python and many of it's large libraries to develop it within a IDE.
Challenges we ran into
Deciding on a core idea proved to be challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're very proud on the temperature-checking features of the program and the tree graphics.
What we learned
We learned that settling on one major mechanic allows for a more time to be spent on to refine it.
What's next for Taskagotchi
We hope to be able to further develop Taskagotchi in the future to achieve our vision for it.
