  This is our knight!

Inspiration

We wanted a fun way to keep on top of our tasks. Inspired by the HackTX '21 theme, we decided it'd be cute if a knight literally cut its way through our to-do list.

What it does

Right now, it only adds items to a to-do list. But it's full intention is to both add items and have them removed by a knight sprite.

How we built it

We built it as a Chrome extension using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

None of us on our team had ever made a Chrome extension, or even had much experience in HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. We were essentially starting from scratch and learning everything as we went.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That we can add things to a list! It's a small and pretty basic feature, but given that we didn't know anything about it going it, we're pretty proud!

What we learned

Everything! From what goes into a Chrome extension to how JavaScript can dynamically alter HTML.

What's next for Task Slayer

Completing it! We still love our original idea, and we fully intend to finish it. We hope to one day make it a public Chrome extension that other people can use to slay their own tasks!
