Inspiration

The theme was work from home so we believed that a task manager would be the best program to write so that users could easily find and create a list of tasks they have to complete.

What it does

The program asks a series of questions for the user to gain information about the task and then creates an ongoing list for what they have to do in the future.

How we built it

We started building the project on Intellij and used Java as our language for coding.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges we faced was how we wanted to structure our code. Another challenge we faced was having to contradict if statements which we had to debug in order for the project to run.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The team is proud of trying something new and out of our comfort zone. This is our first time participating in a hackathon and we only have one semester of programming under our belt.

What we learned

Hack Solstice was our first hackathon so we learned how a hackathon works, and how important teamwork and perseverance are in coding. We learned how to apply computer programming to problem solving and logic. We learned that it requires a great deal of brainstorming to successfully create a project. We went in with very little experience but this event has allowed us to figure out where our strengths and weaknesses lie.

What's next for Task Manager

As we continue to learn more on our own and in our classes, we will continue to update this code and add new features such as notifications and color coordination based on the category of the task.
