Inspiration
During my high school years in China, the overwhelming number of tasks and the scarcity of encouragement often led to feelings of stress and being overwhelmed. The turning point came when I started organizing my tasks, setting clear time goals, and self-motivating with positive affirmations. This personal strategy not only helped me navigate through difficult times but also instilled a sense of achievement and control.
What it does
This application is designed to help individuals manage their tasks effectively while fostering a positive and encouraging environment. By breaking down tasks, setting specific timelines, and integrating motivational messages, it aims to reduce feelings of overwhelm and increase productivity. The relaxed background and user-friendly UI contribute to a calming experience, promoting a balanced approach to task management.
How we built it
The application was developed using Unity and C#, leveraging Unity's robust features for creating interactive and user-friendly interfaces. The development process involved designing the UI, implementing drag-and-drop functionality for task management, and ensuring a seamless user experience.
Challenges we ran into
One significant challenge was sorting layers properly within the Unity environment, particularly differentiating between sprites and images. However, through trial and error and extensive testing, I was able to resolve these issues, leading to a better understanding of Unity's rendering system.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Completing this project by myself in just one day is an achievement I hold dear. It not only reflects my technical skills and ability to work under pressure but also my commitment to creating tools that aid mental and emotional well-being.
What we learned
The project was a valuable learning experience in draggable UI elements, layer sorting within Unity, and the intricacies of developing an application from scratch. It enhanced my problem-solving skills, deepened my understanding of user interface design, and reinforced the importance of user-centered development.
What's next for Task Manager
Moving forward, the focus will be on extensive testing and bug fixing to ensure reliability and user satisfaction. Additionally, I plan to incorporate user feedback to refine features and potentially introduce new functionalities that align with the core objective of promoting well-being through task management.
