Inspiration
after a natural disaster, many volunteers are turned away because response team do not have resources to manage that many people.
What it does
There is a controller and communicator. The controller is handled by the response team. They can assign task with different priority numbers depending out how many people are needed. They can also send out emergency alerts in a situation has changed. The communicator is given out volunteers. It allows them to see and accept tasks. They can tell the response team when they are done with their task. Additionally, the communicator comes with many pre-made alerts that they can send to the controller (response team) in cases such as injury, low resources at location, or survivor found.
How we built it
The controller works with a computer to create tasks and announce alerts with serial monitor and an LCD. The communicator works with and LCD with an up, down, and select button
Challenges we ran into
The screen would not work
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The whole system works properly
What we learned
How to run LCD, make select screens, and CAD unique models.
What's next for TASC-Task assignment System Communicator/Controller.
Make the screen work in its case
