Inspiration

The inspiration behind TartanHub came from the challenges faced by students in managing essential services like meals, finding affordable housing, and peer-to-peer selling. We saw a gap where students need a streamlined solution for these services, which often come from fragmented sources, and decided to bring it all together in one platform.

What it does

TartanHub provides an all-in-one solution for students by offering three main services: meal delivery, peer-to-peer selling, and a peer-as-agent housing service. Students can easily order meals, buy or sell products to their peers, and find housing with the help of student agents who know the local areas and student needs.

How we built it

We built TartanHub using modern web technologies and mobile-first principles, ensuring it’s both scalable and user-friendly. The back-end utilizes a robust database structure to handle various service verticals, while the front-end is designed for intuitive navigation. We also integrated real-time features for peer communication and transaction tracking.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of successfully conceiving a unified platform that addresses three significant needs for students in one place. Our accomplishment includes creating a peer-as-agent housing service that leverages the student network for housing solutions—a unique feature in the market.

What we learned

Throughout the process, we learned the importance of understanding user pain points and how crucial it is to maintain simplicity while developing a multifunctional platform. We also gained experience in ensuring secure and scalable transaction systems for diverse services.

What's next for TartanHub

We plan to expand TartanHub to include more universities and student communities. We also aim to integrate additional features like a loyalty rewards program for meal deliveries, enhanced housing recommendations through AI, and even more peer-driven services tailored to student needs.
