Inspiration

Our team is addressing crucial challenges faced by students and staffs within the CMU-Africa community while promoting a spirit of innovation.

What it does

Our project address some of these challenges through TartanCampus Mobile & Web App, with the following Modules:

USpace: Ignite Innovation and Collaboration! Connect with project holders, like-minded students, and experienced faculty within the CMU-Africa community. Tap into vast intellectual and physical resources to get valuable feedback, reviews, and even discover potential co-founders and funding for your student projects. TartanCampus brings your innovative ideas to the spotlight, turning your vision into reality.
Tartan Assistant: Your Smart Campus Guide! Navigating campus life has never been easier. Our AI-powered Tartan Assistant provides seamless access to campus facilities and connects you to the right people when you need assistance. Say goodbye to confusion and hello to a streamlined, efficient campus experience!
Events and Voting: Stay Engaged and Empowered! Never miss a beat with our Events and Voting module! Stay updated on all ongoing and upcoming events and handle in-house voting securely and conveniently. From student guild elections to hackathons like TartanInnovate, and many others... we ensure a fair and transparent voting process exclusively for the CMU-Africa community.
In order to ease commuting, we offer an additional feature: Real-Time Bus Tracking, Stay Ahead of Your Commute! Never be left guessing about bus schedules again or where the bus could be at any given moment during school hours! With real-time tracking using GPS trackers, TartanCampus keeps you updated on bus locations even without internet connectivity for drivers. Whether you're rushing to class or planning your day, our feature ensures you're always in the know.

How we built it

Our team used Flutter for cross platform development, React, NodeJS(Express.js) and Firebase database. First version has been deployed on the web on Vercel and mobile to PlayStore as a beta version for testing and feedback. We focused on innovation and user experience.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered numerous challenges during this short time, coming up with a working version for testing purposes. We however overcame them through our collaborative spirit.

What we learned

From identifying problems to tackling them with innovative and scalable ideas, we've learned to work as a team throughout the process and tackling real issues in our own community (The CMU-Africa community).
