Inspiration
The idea came from seeing how often people lose or forget their bank cards, and the security risks with card cloning and ATM skimming. We wanted to create a safer, faster, and more convenient way to access cash — using just a smartphone, similar to mobile payment solutions like Apple Pay.
What it does
TapCash allows users to withdraw cash from ATMs without a physical card. Users authenticate via biometrics (fingerprint or Face ID), then scan a QR code or tap via NFC at the ATM. The cash is dispensed instantly, eliminating the need for a card while maintaining security.
How we built it
Mobile App: Flutter for iOS and Android interfaces.
Database: Firebase for user accounts and transaction records.
ATM Simulator: Web app simulating QR/NFC interactions.
Security: Biometric authentication APIs to verify users.
Challenges we ran into
Simulating ATM hardware interactions realistically.
Ensuring security flows were simple yet robust.
Creating a realistic demo without connecting to real banking systems.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a working prototype demonstrating cardless withdrawals.
Integrated QR/NFC scanning and biometric authentication.
Created a smooth, user-friendly flow in under a hackathon timeframe.
