Inspiration

What it does

Inspiration

The idea for Tango on Coals was born from the desire to merge raw human emotion with the visual power of cinematic storytelling. We wanted to show how music is not just performance, but survival — a way of holding on when everything else burns away.

The inspiration came from two directions:

Personal stories of mothers and children fighting against illness, where love and hope become stronger than fear.

The philosophy of Society of Poets, where music is a confession, every verse a scar, and every performance a battle with silence.

In this project, fire became a metaphor for both destruction and rebirth. Dancing on coals represents the pain and resilience of life — each step burns, but also proves that we are still alive.

What we learned

We learned how powerful it is to combine AI-driven visuals with human-written poetry and music. Each frame became part of a living poem, where realism and symbolism could coexist.

How it was built

Visuals: Generated with AI tools like Sora, MidJourney, and Runway, layered with cinematic effects (glow, haze, slow camera pans).

Music: Written and performed by Society of Poets, blending rap, alt-rock, and poetic vocals.

Storyline: Structured as a journey between reality and metaphor — a mother and daughter’s fight against illness intertwined with performance scenes of the band.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was balance: how to depict pain without turning it into spectacle, and how to give hope without denying the reality of suffering. Another challenge was consistency of characters across AI tools — ensuring Nova Rae, Tansen, Frouze, Matt, and Alex Hit appeared as one band, not fragmented versions.
