Inspiration

Tang began while trying Sol outside Codex as a test in another coding harness (which will remain unnamed). The session crashed while producing a specification; the work appeared lost, was difficult to locate, and eventually had to be recovered by another agent. I was left with the question why is valuable work trapped inside the handle that created it?

What it does

Tang is a skill and a workflow that starts with Codex that allows you to connect multiple sessions into one, or from another source like Grok Build or OpenCode

How we built it

Everything with Codex and Sol except code review done in opencode with other models. This provided code review but also generated sessions in other tools in order to test with.

Planning was all Sol Ultra to create the spec. The spec was broken into Beads (Thanks Steve) and then we looped through epics. code reviewing, writing tests before claiming the next bead.

Challenges we ran into

Finding the sessions from different tools wasn't hard, but the harness storage modes were very different, which is why I started with Codex and Grok and Opencode. Cursor will be a quick V2. Then to decide database features, to include global sessions or local sessions in the project folder. I decided to keep tight to deliver within the deadlines

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It works, you can continue any session, many to many into one agent platform or another, and keep track of them. It also prints a graphic multiverse loom style path of your connections.

What we learned

Tests are great, but do not replace functional testing. Specs and set up of the project takes time but pays off in the end. some agents are more complex than others, oddly, the opensource projects were more complex. Hackathons are fun and I switched back to Codex for this event and to try Sol at the same time.

What's next for Tang

Release it to the public always free like skills should be, add compatibility for all agents/tools and for all OS.

Updates

posted an update

Not just a hackathon project, Tang continues to evolve. Compatible with 6 agents now, Codex, Claude, Cursor, Antigravity, Opencode, Grok. Will also choose to index globally or contain to the project folder. Solving the problem 'where did I work on that!'
