Inspiration

We wanted to make a Tamagotchi after a member became obsessed with one

What it does

The Bot allows users on a server to interact with a virtual pet together

How we built it

We used the discord.py api and python in order to get the bot up and running

Challenges we ran into

As mostly Second Years, we really didn't have much from our coursework that would be applicable in a hackathon. Learning not only python, but the discord.py api was quite a challenge to say the least.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud of not only feeling comfortable with a new language in less than 24 hours, but implementing a bot for discord, which we use to keep in touch, was very gratifying.

What we learned

We learned so much in the time frame, and the fact we prepared before hand led to our success

What's next for TamoBotChi Bot

Now there's a solid basis for us to build off, if we wanted to emulate Tamagotchi's that are pre-existing, which would definitely be a bot users would want on their servers.
