Inspiration

Just as the iconic Tamagotchi game was designed to teach a child to be responsible, the Tamagotchi Earth service is designed to help people take care of our planet and reduce their eco footprint.

What it does

  • User has his own Tamagotchi planet, which reflects characteristics such as greenhouse gas emissions, water use and the number of territories occupied per year.
  • The indicators change depending on the data entered by the user (example on building materials).
  • Recommendations to reduce your ecological footprint.

How I built it

  • used Strapi for fast api development
  • used javascript for frontend development
  • used my gifs to add nice animation
  • found information about the environmental friendliness of materials

Challenges I ran into

  • lack of reliable data on materials (actual footprint)

Accomplishments that I am proud of

  • didn't sleep for 2 days
  • managed to develop the main functionality

What I learned

  • mastered strapi more deeply
  • studied the impact of materials on the planet

What's next for Tamagotchi Earth

  • research to get real data on the impact of materials on the environment
  • creation of other thematic levels: sorting and recycling of garbage, planting trees, water consumption, switching to public transport, water purification, resource saving, responsible purchasing, helping animals, etc.
