Tally Agent — Talk to Tally Prime
Tally Prime is the accounting and billing software that runs small businesses: over 2.7 million businesses and 7 million users in more than 100 countries keep their books on it — invoices, inventory, banking, payroll and India's GST tax returns.
Inspiration: Our family's trading business in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh runs on Tally Prime, like millions of small businesses in India. But the shop owner is rarely at the accounts computer — he is on the phone, in the godown, or out in the market. Every small question ("How much did we sell today?" "How much does he still owe me?") means stopping, opening Tally, and clicking through reports. Tally Agent exists so he can simply ask — and hear the answer.
What it is: Tally Agent connects Alexa+ to Tally Prime through Tally MCP, our open-source MCP server (Python, FastMCP, 70 tools — github.com/yousufkidiya17/tally-mcp) that talks to Tally Prime over its XML API. Ledgers, parties, stock, vouchers, reports and GST returns — the whole of Tally, behind one standard MCP plug that any AI client can use.
The demo video shows an interactive prototype of the Alexa experience: ask for today's sales or a party's outstanding and get the answer in chat; dictate a bill and Alexa shows a preview card first — nothing is saved until you confirm. That preview → confirm gate is the heart of the design: around real money, the AI prepares the paperwork, but only a human says yes. A single-use token means a confirmation can never be replayed.

What's next: a real Echo / Alexa+ device path for the shop counter, and Hindi-first voice — because the questions in this demo are exactly the questions a shopkeeper asks in Hindi.
