About the Project
Tallest Hotel was inspired by tycoon games where every upgrade creates visible progress. I wanted to bring that feeling to Horizon Worlds through a shared resort island where each player builds a hotel tower that grows floor by floor.
The project is a 3D hotel tycoon / light management game. Players collect cash, build rooms, add services, improve rating, unlock amenities, and expand upward. The hotel works as a progress bar, a management space, and a social trophy: the taller it becomes, the more impressive it looks beside other players’ hotels.
I built the submission through a Game Design Document, Player Journey Map, Visual Concept Package, Production Plan, UI wireframes, concept art, and an economy reference. The main challenge was balancing idle simplicity with meaningful decisions, so each system has a clear role: rooms increase capacity, services support rating, amenities add prestige, and floors increase Tower Height.
What I learned is that a good tycoon loop is not just about bigger numbers. It is about giving players a clear next goal, visible feedback, and the feeling that they always want to build one more floor.
