The story

An invisible problem in society is that there are numerous people who suffer silently, possibly coping with stress, anxiety, depression, or mental illness. They may feel alone, and want a non-judgmental listener. Thumper 1.0 is capable of detecting the user's emotion using IBM Watson's Tone Analyzer, and responds appropriately.

What's next for TalkToTheBot

With enough time, we can power Thumper to handle more cases, respond more intelligently and compassionately, and perhaps incorporate research from the field of psychology.
