Inspiration
Talktonic was inspired by the our basic human need to not just communicate but to have someone whom we can empathize with. Whenever we face difficulty both cognitive, physical, or emotional it is unquestionably true that being able to speak to someone going through the same difficulty at the same time is one of the best ways for both parties to help themselves as well as each other.
What it does
Talktonic offers a private peer to peer network for users sharing similar interests in discussion to connect. It is maintained by an AI by the name of Landau which oversees the sentiment of the conversation, rapidly identifying any trolls, spambots and other malicious users before they can cause any emotional damage to the users who they are connecting to.
How I built it
Talktonic was a team effort that utilized a wide variety of tools including the nltk pyplot, matplotlib, and numpy libraries of python. It is built on the cement of Google App Engine for online deployment, and makes heavy use of various web tools including the AlchemyAPI
