Inspiration: Talk2A was inspired by trying to increase empathy and compassion in our daily lives. Many know the feeling of going through a rough time in your life, but how many know about what to do when trying to comfort another through their trying times? We built Talk2A to spread awareness and knowledge of how exactly we can support our loved ones so that we can create a loving and supportive community.
What it does: Talk2A is a user-friendly website with a mini-quiz with a study page at the beginning that educates users on how to comfort loved ones. We also have a search function that helps users find adequate mental health resources nearby. Lastly, we have a sudoku game implemented to help users who may be distressed from their role in comforting another to relax and stay calm
How we built it: We built Talk2A using Firebase Studio under the Next.js framework
Struggles: We tried implementing API's within our project to give the user information on nearby mental health resources embedded within the site, but we were overwhelmed with security, privacy, and implementation issues. As a team, we should have done more research into how to properly implement API's into out service.
