Inspiration

Giving talks can be so nerve-wracking when you don't know where to start. From topic selection to crafting engaging slides, there are so many details to consider. But with practice and the right tool, public speaking gets easier.

What it does

Talk Maker is here to hold your hand every step of the way - from brainstorming topics and title ideas to deciding key takeaways, developing your abstract, suggesting demos, crafting customizable slides and offering presentation tips. You'll go from feeling stumped to feeling stage-ready in no time.

How I built it

I experimented with different prompts to generate personalized suggestions. Tweaking along the way and referencing the right widgets helped me refine each section and make the experience seamless (except for the images!).

Challenges I ran into

I wanted users to decide topic/title first before subsequent advice so I had to work around tweaking each widget. The visual images also tested me - AI doesn't shine in there. I still need to refine those prompts.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Knowing Talk Maker will encourage others to take the first step in their public speaking journey makes me super excited. Public speaking is power because it's all about knowledge sharing, and sharing this tool to aid others gives me extreme joy.

What I learned

Getting comfortable talking takes practice. Tools like Talk Maker reveal crafting presentations can also be fun rather than pressure. This app could be a game-changer for people.

What's next for Talk Maker

I'm excited to get feedback from others to improve the tool. I also need to fine-tune the image prompts to get more specific visual aids for each slide.
