Inspiration When I started Tales from Underground, I didn’t want to tell a big story — I wanted to capture the tiny, invisible ones that happen in people’s heads between stations. The whole film began with a question: what do people actually think about on the train when they’re pretending not to look at each other?

What it does

How we built it. The process was as random as the thoughts themselves. I used Midjourney to generate still images — strangers frozen mid-commute, eyes glazed, minds racing — and then brought them to life through Google Veo 3.

Challenges we ran into: Writing the lines was its own experiment. I didn’t want dialogue that felt written — I wanted fragments, overheard thoughts, mutters, intrusive ideas, the weird humour that sneaks out when no one’s watching. Every character became a flicker of humanity: the overthinker, the romantic, the old lady complaining about her knees, the chaotic roadman, the anxious commuter.

Accomplishments that we're proud of. The people's reaction to it. People engaging with the charcaters and their thoughts.

What we learned

What's next for Tales from the Underground. More episodes! or a tv series!
