Inspiration

Most people store important documents everywhere — downloads folder, WhatsApp, Drive, desktop and finding a single file later becomes frustrating. We wanted to build something that removes that chaos completely. ParseFlow was inspired by the idea of having an AI assistant that not only stores documents, but actually understands and organizes them automatically.

What it does

ParseFlow is an AI-powered document management platform that automatically categorizes uploaded files like resumes, certificates, bills, IDs, and academic records into organized sections. Users can search documents instantly, interact with a chatbot to retrieve files using natural language, and sync everything with Google Drive for secure cloud access.

How we built it

We built the frontend using React, Tailwind CSS, Node, k8n, dockerand modern UI animations to create a clean and interactive experience. The backend handles document uploads, categorization, and storage management. AI APIs were used to analyze document content and identify categories automatically. We also integrated chatbot-based retrieval and Google Drive synchronization to make document access seamless across devices.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was accurately categorizing different document types without hardcoding rules for every format. Handling file uploads efficiently while keeping the UI smooth was another challenge. We also spent time improving chatbot responses so users could retrieve documents naturally instead of using exact filenames.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that ParseFlow feels like a real product instead of just a prototype. The automatic document organization works smoothly, the chatbot interaction feels intuitive, and the UI gives a modern AI-powered experience. Integrating Drive sync and smart retrieval made the platform much more practical and useful.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how AI can be integrated into real-world productivity tools instead of being used only for simple chat applications. We also gained experience in handling file systems, API integrations, cloud synchronization, and designing user-focused workflows that simplify everyday problems.

What's next for ParseFlow

We plan to add OCR support for scanned documents and handwritten files, smart reminders for expiring documents, voice-based document search, and advanced AI summaries for large PDFs. We also want to introduce team collaboration features and mobile support to make ParseFlow a complete AI document workspace.
