Inspiration:
After seeing the struggle of -
- Recruiters in identifying the suitable Pega professionals
- Candidates lacking guidance and knowledge on market needs
- Companies in encouraging the Pega professionals to upgrade their knowledge with the latest Pega features We wanted to build an application that helps everyone and resolves maximum problems in the hiring process.
What it does:
As the name describes ‘RiseToHire’ – Provides guidance to Pega professionals in upgrading their knowledge with the latest Pega features, And facilitates the recruiters in identifying the best candidates by accessing their real-time learning experiences. It eliminates the dependency on open networks like LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, etc. which might have non-reliable information. It saves a lot of time and effort for recruiters as we are searching only in Pega network with advanced features to filter the best.
How we built it:
We have implemented a registration module for both candidates and recruiters. Based on the information available in the candidate profile, the system will calculate the ‘Profile score’ which will help recruiters/companies in identifying suitable candidates. Also, we are using profile scores to provide system-driven suggestions to candidates to improve their proficiency. Same as other networks, we also have job posting, recommendations profiles, job search, profile search, etc. features to support the hiring process. To improve reliability, we have ‘Project endorsements’ which will allow candidates to endorse the projects of team members.
Challenges we ran into:
We thought of building this application as an additional component for Pega academy. But, as there is no API available to integrate with Pega academy, we had to build the registration module for the database.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
With limited time, we have built an application that can attain resolution for major problems in the hiring process.
What we learned:
We have learned that collaboration and understating the business are the key factors in delivering the desired outcome.
What's next for RiseToHire:
- Implement more features to simplify and address all the issues in the hiring process of Pega professionals.
- Work with PegaSystems to get an API to integrate with Pega Academy.
