What it does

For Talent

Transform your loose professional network into a community of committed supporters. Anyone anywhere can apply to launch a token, even without a big following, as long as you have an inspiring goal and a belief in web3.

For Supporters

Back your favorite people or find new talent to support, and receive weekly rewards as they grow. Users can hold Talent Tokens to access exclusive perks and earn rewards, or sell them back to the market.

How we built it

We started by building an alpha using Ruby on Rails, React, and Solidity on Ropsten testnet, where talent could launch a personal token that followed a bonding curve on mint backed by $TAL. We chose CELO for our private beta and integrated with The Graph in order to support better data indexing and data access from non-web3 connected browsers. Our tokenomics model differs significantly in our private beta as it uses a staking based approach to mint personal tokens.

Challenges we ran into

The tokenomics are complex, which is why we are onboarding talent in seasons. This allows us to quickly test and validate hypotheses as part of our iterative approach. Read more about it here: https://docs.talentprotocol.com/technical/tokenomics.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

Being part of Celo Camp and being on the Demo Day finalists, being on CoinList Seed Day list, and delivering an Alpha and a Private Beta (on Celo mainnet with real cUSD) in only 5 months.

What we learned

Building in public has turned out to have upsides as you have access to feedback early and are creating the environment for a community that is engaged with the mission and vision for Talent Protocol from the very first day.

What's next for Talent Protocol

Learning as much as we can with Season 1 and start preparing for Season 2.
