Inspiration
The inspiration was the video game 'Keep Talking and No One Explodes".
What it does
The Escapee uses an Arduino as the device they have to escape. The instructors are sent instructions are jumbled up and are sent to a website. It emulates the experience of the video game by tinkering with real wiring.
How I built it
The device was built using Arduino. The website was built using the Django framework. We also used an LCD and Keypad.
Challenges I ran into
We ran into a few issues with communication between the Arduino and the Django website. The number of digital pins on the Arduino Uno were a constraint.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are proud of the fact that we were able to randomize the instructions on the Django website. Learnt how to use a keypad. Recognizing which wire was removed. Timing button presses.
What I learned
We learned communication between Django and Arduino. Learnt how to use a keypad.
What's next for Take Home Escape Room
Next we wish to add more puzzles for the Take Home Escape Room. Add a piezo for sound effects to cue solutions. Improve the UX on the LCD. Clean up the wiring. Create an enclosure.
