Inspiration

A wifi scanning app for my home router has a whole list of bluetooth devices in my vicinity. Experience in the Intelligence Community with collection operations

What it does

Detects bluetooth mac address and the location over time to determine if you have been near the same device in multiple locations

Detecting 2,000 unique devices at this hackathon alone

What we learned

Apple devices are constantly in discovery mode. Smart Watches and Wireless earbuds are also always listening.

Cars have bluetooth BSSIDs

Cell signals like IMEIs/IMSIs could also be used in a portable fashion with the same logic

What's next for Tail Watch

Implement other sensors. Plot on a map. More efficient use of power and phone resources

Use things like license plate readers

Start to do correction between all the sensors
