Inspiration

Most people use groupme as a tool to communicate important (well, most of the time?) information about the class, but the message in the chat is sometimes mixed up and it becomes hard to find effective information. One day someone in my physics260 chat complains about people posting meme and pictures about their pets and made him difficult to find useful information. Of course, that led to a discussion. What if people can tag every message they sent and filter by tags?

How I built it

We did some research and found most desktop chatting apps are built with electron, and we found an open source project online called "hola", so we decided to build our functionalities upon it.

Challenges I ran into

vue.js, css and html are not that easy to learn in 36 hrs... None of us had any prior experience with javascript, so this entire project is a huge challenge for us.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Although the result is far from what we initially wanted, we got the most basic functions working

A lot more! -people can add tags for other people's chat, -tags sorted by popularity -fix issues and bugs
